Refined Detail’s ‘signature’ detail – designed for the demanding perfectionist who strives for every little detail to be as perfect as it possibly can. An ideal detail when preparing a car for concours competitions. An extremely time consuming detail that leaves the vehicle looking better than new – predominantly for cars that are not daily drivers – better suited for show cars, concours cars and rare collectables. Aimed to remove as many of the paint defects as it is deemed safe to. This may include swirl marks, cobwebbing, RDS, bird etchings, light scratches and hologrammes. This leaves absolutely nothing untouched and as well as covering every point outlined below, can be further customised with clients individual requirements.

This detail must be carried out at my unit in Henfield (BN5) to allow me to control the working environment fully (something that is necessary when striving for perfection and to allow products to work correctly) I can also arrange for full wheel refurbishment / recolouring and Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) to be carried out whilst the car is in my custody.

N.B – An initial consultation is required for this service before an accurate price can be given for the work involved.

  • Engine bay thoroughly detailed & finished with a non silicone dressing
  • PH neutral snow foam applied and left to dwell
  • Wheels removed & cleaned inside & out with suitable, safe products to dissolve brake dust and road grime
  • Tyres & arches cleaned & degreased
  • Vehicle washed using two bucket method with PH neutral shampoo
  • Tar spots removed with specialist product
  • Iron filings and other metallic fallout removed with specialist product
  • Paintwork given a clay bar treatment to remove bonded contaminants such as sap, industrial fall out etc
  • Dried using ultra soft microfibre drying towels
  • Paint thickness measured using Paint Thickness Gauge (usually taken beforehand during initial consultation)
  • Paintwork polished panel by panel using suitable polishing compounds via machine polisher to remove defects
  • (this will often require several time consuming passes over the same area using multiple levels of abrasiveness in order to achieve the desired result)
  • Paintwork refined and burnished to a high gloss finish using a finishing abrasive via machine polisher
  • 3 coats of long lasting, premium quality wax OR sealant applied to all paintwork & left to cure
  • (UPGRADES: Nano Coating offering ~6-8 months durability @ £40 Ceramic/Quartz coating offering ~12-24 months durability @£100. Please note these take longer to apply and cure so the detail will take more time. Ceramic coatings are climate specific and mustn’t get wet during curing so as a result must stay at the unit overnight.)
  • Plastic trim dressed
  • Alloy wheels sealed with G-Techniq C5 Wheel Armour
  • Glass polished
  • Glass sealed to aid water sheeting allowing for safer driving in wet conditions (exterior only)
  • Wheel arches dressed
  • Tyres dressed
  • Chrome & Stainless Steel polished & sealed
  • Clean and wax door shuts
  • Final Inspection

Interior:

  • Seats and upholstery thoroughly vacuumed (inc. boot and spare wheel compartment)
  • Air vents etc dusted
  • Headlining & sun visors cleaned
  • Rubbish removed, ash trays emptied
  • All interior plastics cleaned and dressed with non silicone matte / satin finish, anti static protectant
  • Fabric upholstery treated with protectant (G-Techniq i1) (where applicable)
  • Leather seats cleaned and sealed(G-Techniq L1) (where applicable)
